Ways to Help

There are several ways you can help raise money for our school right now!

-Box Tops for Education: This past Friday, you all received an empty alphabet page in your child's SAFARI folder. This can be used to collect the Box Tops for Education found on many popular brand name foods. Please send those back as soon as you can, filled with 25 box tops. Of course, if you want to just send the box tops without the sheet, that's perfectly fine too! Students that bring back the sheets will receive a special prize. :)

If you need extra pages or need replacement pages, let me know and I'll be glad to send more home.

A special thanks to Maya (and her family), who brought in a sheet of box tops this past week!

-"Enjoy the City" Coupon Books: As mentioned in the newsletter this past week, the "Enjoy the City" coupon books were sent home that same Friday. This is a fundraiser through our PTA, filled with wonderful coupons from McDonald's to the Huntsville Space and Rocket Center! Please sell as many of these as possible. You can send in orders as you sell them! All orders (and sample coupon books) are due September 15th. It is VERY important that each family sends back their sample coupon book - our PTA will be responsible for the cost of the coupon book if they are not returned!

Our PTA is supporting some wonderful incentives in our school this year, including our Wednesday Explorations meetings and new playground equipment. Please do what you can to help them enrich our students' learning experiences!

-Join PTA: The PTA is currently having a membership drive. The class that has the most parents per student that have joined PTA will have an ice cream party! You can join for only $5 through this Friday to help us win the membership drive. If you would like to send your money to me in your child's SAFARI folder, I'll be glad to get it to PTA. Many parents from our class have already joined - thanks so much!

-Enriching Learning at Home: As always, the most important thing you can do is enrich the learning of your child by practicing at home. Reading for 20 minutes and reviewing sight words every night is key! In addition, you should discuss our in-class topics at home as much as possible. For example, if we are concentrating upon addition one week, take every chance you can to ask your child to combine numbers and objects to find sums! There are little opportunities in each home environment that will help your child have the best school experience possible.

Thanks for all you continue to do!
